Sick Day Fun

January has brought a fair share of germs into our home.  I think Morgan is the only one who hasn’t missed any school (and let’s keep it that way).  Julianne missed 3 days with a low grade temp and headache that never developed into anything.  Andrew missed a day with a headache and stomach ache (nothing came of it).  Creg came down with a nasty sounding cold (but he wasn’t sick).  Luckily, he didn’t feel too bad from it.  Dax gave us quite a scare with RSV.  Morgan had it when she was an infant, but I don’t remember it being anything like what he had.  And good news…..he’s learned to share!!!!!!  UGH!  Poor Creg has another round of coughing and congestion and I’m dying.  Okay, I’m not dying, but I don’t remember the last time I felt this bad.

Anyway, we’ve been keeping it pretty chill around here.  Not venturing out unless we have to.  How are we staying entertained?

Outdoor Time

We’ve been blessed with some nicer days and have taken full advantage of the sunshine.  We threw the softball around some, did a little garage cleanup, and took a walk.  The kids have all gotten out their electric scooters/dirt bikes and have decided that our big hill will only be made on the scooters and never on their peddle bikes.  I’m going to give them all a challenge to be able to peddle all the way up the hill by the end of summer.  What should their prize be if they achieve the goal?   Even Dax has mastered the hill in his John Deer Gator.

Mochi Squishies

These couldn’t have come at a better time!  Dax had tons of fun with them while he was battling the yucks.  He role played with Julianne and just squished them because it’s fun!  They really were great for quiet play when all he wanted to do was lay on the couch.

Board Games

We’ve been playing a lot of Monopoly and Clue.  The Ultimate Banking Monopoly is GREAT!  I mean, it’s kind of a “dummies” game, but it’s so simple.  The ATM takes care of ALL the money.  It tells you when you’re bankrupt, counts your money out.  And it goes super fast as opposed to the all day/night original game.  It’s not teaching the kids how to do money very well, but sometimes a game for “fun” is needed.  Did you know that Mrs. White is no longer part of Clue?  Was she the murder victim?  She’s be replaced by Dr. Orchid.  Her color is pink, so I’m not missing Mrs. White very much.  Sometimes Andrew will coax me into a game of Risk.  This doesn’t happen very often, but then I feel mom guilt and give in.  It’s just not my thang.  Like stab me in the foot, pull my teeth, not fun kind of game.

Ice Cream

Ice cream makes the world go round, right?  We’ve been making a lot of it with Morgan’s new Ice Cream Maker.  It’s actually really neat and totally worth the money.  It’s fun to use and tastes delish!  Thanks for having a birthday Morgan!  We love your gift!

I’m praying that these germs stop with me and we continue to steer clear of the influenza epidemic.  If we can keep that out of our house, I’m calling it a win!  Yay for oils and our online wellness store.  Send me a message if you’re interested in more info on either of those!  $1.00 memberships right now…Say WHAT!?!?!
