Sick Day
I had planned on a different post today; but if I’m completely honest, I’m not ready to post it. So…….you get a different “tough stuff” post today!
Sick For Father’s Day
Little Miss Morgan woke up Saturday feeling a little ehhh. She wasn’t sick, but just wasn’t her normal self. We had Daxton’s 1st birthday party planned, she had friends coming to town that she misses a lot, and she was going to have fun with her dad over night for Father’s Day. She put on her best “I’m fine” face and toughed the party out. It was pretty obvious that she wasn’t “fine”. Her energy was lacking and she was pretty quiet. Once her friends left, she went to room and actually fell asleep! Clearly, she was NOT feeling well! She doesn’t nap….EVER!
When she woke up, I could tell the sparkle was gone from her eyes. I took her temperature…..100.1. UGH! She started crying. After some extra snuggles, it finally came out…… “Mommy, I don’t want to go to Daddy’s…”
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go…she did. She loves her daddy time! She just didn’t feel well. I get it! When I don’t feel well, I STILL want my mom…..and I’m 34 29 years old!!!
Tough Stuff!
What do you do??? Well, I came up with a compromise. She stays the night with me and go to her dad’s in the morning (father’s day). That sounded good to her and he was okay with that, too. Miss Morgan is such a pleaser. She didn’t want to hurt her dad by staying with me, so we both reassured her that we understood being comfortable when you aren’t up to par. Things happen. We can’t control when we are sick.

When their dad came to pick up the other 2 for the night, she found out they were having movie night. She got sad that she was missing out. I told her we could do a movie here. She picked Zootopia
She spent Father’s Day with her dad (still running a little temp). She’s finally completely fever free today and ready for her softball tournament tonight!
