Welcome to 2018….

Wow! It’s been awhile….I could make all kinds of excuses for not updating you all, but I’ll just some it up with one word. LIFE!!! I think you all can understand that one.  I’ve actually done several updates through Instagram.  It’s just so much easier for me right now.  Little man seems to need my attention Every. Single. Time. I sit down to the computer.  I know one day, he won’t need or want me around quite so much so I’m trying to embrace this season of clinginess.

For those of you that don’t follow me on Instagram (and why don’t you???), I’ll do a super quick recap since the last post…..

  • Moved into new house
  • Crazy holiday schedules (Creg works for a mega church…we barely saw him)
  • Crazy school schedules
  • Not 1, Not 2, Not 3, but 4 separate car issues (2 his, 2 mine, and mine has another issue needing fixed)
    • Seriously, this on alone is enough to put me in the looney bin (at Christmas of all times)
    • Creg turned over 200,000 on his car recently so his issues are a little more easy to swallow (I only have 64,000 on mine)
  • Still not fully unpacked
  • Still can’t park in the garage
  • Creg’s girls came down for a week during Christmas break
  • Nothing real exciting other than just crazy life to finish out 2017

I was ready to get 2018 off to a great start!!!  Hit the ground running with organization, building my photography business back up, budget set, healthier lifestyle……… Well, it went great for about a week…….

Can we get a do over???

We were headed to Illinois for Morgan’s 11th birthday when I got the call from my mom that Dad had been to the doctor and tested positive for Influenza A.  Well, we certainly didn’t want any part of that, BUT the big kids’ dad was coming in town from Arizona.  So, his amazing parents agreed to meet me half way to get the kids so that the baby and I didn’t have to rent a hotel room to avoid my dad.  I really am grateful for them.  Married to their son or not, we are blessed to call them Oma and Opa!

That all turned out well for the kiddos, minus the fact that I accidentally shipped Morgan’s main birthday present to my parent’s house (you’ve got to be kidding me, right?).  It really turned out okay, I reordered it and had mom ship back the one I sent her.  It was just a few days late…. #momfail

I continued to keep tabs on Dad via my mom.  She kept assuring me everything was okay (she thought it was).  I kept saying “why don’t you go back just to double check”, “just call and ask”.  She finally called the doctor and they told her this flu is just nasty and takes a long time to get over.  I’m thinking, okay…not being there is harder for me to judge and I just have to give the anxiety to God.  Then I got the phone call…. ER….Pneumonia…..running a few more tests due to some off numbers…….INSTANT PANIC!!!!

Long story short…..Dad is doing better and home after a week in the hospital.  Keep those prayers coming for complete healing.  In that time frame that I’m worried about Dad in the hospital, Dax tested positive for RSV and gave me the scare of my life coughing until his lips turned blue.  He’s on the downhill side of it now, we think.

God blessed us with 2 gorgeous days of sun and warmth!!!  It was much needed.  I got some work done in the garage, took a walk, threw the softball around with Morgan, watched the kids play with their friends.  2018 is turning around and is going to be AMAZING!!!!  We just had to get a little junk out of the way first!

Happy New Year
