Valentine Bookmarks

We’ve had a lot going on around here and Valentine’s Day kinda snuck up on me. My teens don’t do valentine exchanges anymore and the 4th grader doesn’t have a “party” so it totally slipped my mind that they still did a valentine exchange…ugh.

The last thing I wanted to do was buy those corny licensed cards from the big box store. She’s a little past all of that. So, we came up with a super quick and easy idea….bookmarks!

valentine bookmark with paint chips

What You Need

*Paint Chips (the long ones work the best)

*Ribbon

*Scrapbook Paper

*Glue Stick

*Hole punch (we used a heart)

*Paper Cutter (not necessary, but helpful)

First, cut the scrapbook paper to fit the back of the paint chip. Glue those on. We used a combination of pinks and baseballs (for the boys). Glue the scrapbook paper to the back of the paint chip. Punch a hole in the top and string some ribbon through You could also punch some hearts down the length of the paint chip, if you wanted to. We added names to the back.

Easy Peasy! DONE!!! And we had fun doing it together with Grammy!

This is a simple craft. This will be great for my boys, my 6 year old just started reading bigger books that take a little more time for him to read so this will be fun and useful.

Absolutely love this, will have to do this next year! Definitely beats store bought Valentines that just get thrown out and they also encourage reading so they’d be perfect for like a Kindergarten or 1st grade class that are just beginning to read 🙂 Pinning for later, thank you!
